Over 25 million visitors shop there every year - but which are their favourite stores and where do they get the best service?

Now Meadowhall shoppers can put their mouth where their money is - and champion the people who contribute the most to their retail experience.

The annual Meadowhall Retail Awards are just around the corner. The awards, supported by The Source Skills Academy and The Sheffield Starand will be held on Sunday October 20.

Staff will be glamming up for the black tie, Oscars-style red carpet gala night at Sheffield City Hall. Around 350 guests from 280 stores will be entertained by Sheffield band the Acoustic Angels and host for the evening is Kate Walsh, runner up in the BBC’s The Apprentice 2009 series.

But who will be heading for the stage to take the 23 sought-after awards that span fashion and beauty to sport, restaurants, games and technology? Mystery shoppers will have been scouting for the best window display and finding excellence in customer service. But Meadowhall wants you to decide the rest - and vote, vote vote when entries open tomorrow.

“We want to know which stores the public think should be crowned cream of the crop. Shoppers will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite retailers until September 15 via the Meadowhall website, voting stations in the malls and in their favourite stores,” say centre managers.

They too could end up a winner as all voters will be put into a draw for the chance to win a shopping spree with a £500 Meadowhall gift card.

Meadowhall Centre director Darren Pearce commented: “Meadowhall is proud to offer the very best brands, stores and products from the retail and leisure industry to our shoppers.

“The third annual Meadowhall Retail Awards are a chance to celebrate a fantastic year of hard work and exceptional customer service and honour the retailers our customers just can’t live without. And who better to vote for the winning retailers than the shoppers themselves?”

Last year thousands of customers voted and the night firmly belonged to cult jewellery brand Pandora, who won three awards, including Retailer of the Year.

Topshop scooped the women’s fashion awards with Topman picking up the men’s award. The best shoe store was Schuh. The best department store was Debenhams, best home store was Next, the Disney Store picked up the most popular children’s store title and Nandos was judged the best restaurant.

Can they do it again? It’s all down to you.
