Leicester City Premiership win creates 'fairytale ending' for Louis Tomlinson in Jamie Vardy movie

A rags to riches football movie starring Doncaster pop star Louis Tomlinson as all-conquering Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy now has a 'fairytale ending' after the Foxes amazing Premiership victory.

Hollywood screenwriter Adrian Butchart, who is putting the finishing touches to his team for the film, says City's remarkable 5000-1 Premiership title win was the icing on the cake for his flick.

He said: "Now Leicester have won the league, the movie has its fairytale ending."

It was revealed earlier this year how Butchart had lined up the Doncaster One Direction singer to appear as goal-grabbing football star Vardy in the new blockbuster movie.

The Foxes ace has become one of the hottest properties in football this season, with a huge haul of goals helping the Foxes to their stunning Premiership win.

Film makers are keen to turn his meteoric rise to fame into a film - and footy fan Louis, 24, is being tipped to star as the 29-year-old marksman, according to reports.

Butchart, who wrote football film Goal, released in 2007, is interested in penning a new story about Vardy's career from non-league with South Yorkshire side Stocksbridge Park Steels to the most prolific English striker in the country.

One Direction star Tomlinson is a keen football fan, playing for Doncaster Rovers in a reserve team game and making a failed takeover attempt at the club with former chairman John Ryan in 2014.

Earlier this year, Butchart was reported as saying: 'We are looking at a few actors. Zac Effron and Robert Pattinson are two favorites, however One Direction's Louis Tomlinson is also very much on our radar, he's apparently a great footballer, he can act and he's from South Yorkshire so the accent won't be a problem for him.

“In fact we hear he's a Jamie Vardy fan, he has tweeted Jamie a few times."

And Leicester rockers and City fans Kasabian could provide the soundtrack for the film - although they aren't so keen on Tomlinson's involvement.

Guitarist Serge Pizzorno and singer Tom Meighan are reportedly pushing for a meeting to discuss the plans.

Pizzorno told The Daily Star: "We played a huge gig in the centre of town in Victoria Park a couple of years ago and Jamie Vardy came and stayed in touch.

"Jamie loves his music so I’d love to sit down and have a meeting about the film of course."

When asked about the choice of Louis for the lead role, Pizzorno replied: "Nah, is he an actor, I don't know? My money would be on Jack O’Connell but the thing is he’s a Derby fan so there’s probably no chance."
