Doncaster branches of the Royal British Legion are being invited to mark the 90th anniversary of the charity with a party.
The Royal British Legion is celebrating its milestone with a three-day summer event called the Great Poppy Party to raise £1 million for the Armed Forces.
Groups interested in taking part are being encouraged to be creative with their party ideas because there is a £1,000 prize at stake for the most unusual.
Examples already being planned include parties in Antarctica and on top of Pen Y Fan Mountain in Wales.
The Legion is also asking party organisers to think of imaginative ways of raising vital funds to support the Armed Forces.
Money from the Great Poppy Party will go towards the charity’s overall target of raising £90 million in its 90th anniversary year.
The money will also aid its development of the Battle Back Centre - a national rehabilitation facility for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and the costs of a wider Personnel Recovery Capability.
