It was revealed by his family on social media this morning that the young boxer had died.
CSI officers have now arrived on the scene to carry out investigations.
Paramedics carried out emergency first aid at the scene before Tom was rushed to hospital.
No arrests have been reported since the incident.
There are unconfirmed reports that it was a drive-by shooting.
Those in the pub last night at the time of the shooting were moved into the beer garden while paramedics battled to save Tom.
Shocked friends heartbroken at the news of his death have also posted tributes to him online.
An air ambulance also landed close by.
However, they have still not named Tom formally as the victim.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area last night, and who saw what happened.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who has dash-cam footage around the Plantation Road area.
Tom was a sparring partner for Edwards in the run up to his world championship bout at Londons O2 Arena.
