Bristol ran in ten tries as they posted a 68-10 win in front of over 13,000 and the Sky Sports cameras.

Well though Bristol played they will be the first to admit that Doncaster’s defensive work – particularly their one-on-one tackling - often left a great deal to be desired.

Often struggling for possession, Knights rarely looked like scoring apart from when centre Lesley Klim crossed for a late consolation try when trailing 63-3.

Bristol got off to flying start with prop Gaston Cortes touched down for a second minute try from a forward drive. Fly-half Ian Madigan added the extras from wide out.

Record points scorer Dougie Flockhart pegged three points back with a long-range penalty on nine minutes.

Bristol opened up a 14-3 lead on 24 minutes when Australian international wing Luke Morahan, who celebrated his 28th birthday with a four-try haul scored out wide.

Bristol, who could easily have had a couple more first half tries, added three more before the break, all converted by Madigan, to lead 35-3.

Bristol flew out of the blocks after the break, scoring three converted tries in the first ten minutes.

Although totally outclassed on the night, Knights stuck to their task and restricted Bristol, who produced arguably their best display of the season, to only two tries in the final quarter – one from an interception.
