Roger Smith, 52,of Bentley, owner of Fencing 4U, raised the cash from ticket sales, a raffle and by selling hospice merchandise at the event at Markham Main Officials Club in Armthorpe.

Roger has also previously donated cash from his partner Cheryl’s funeral to the hospice; replaced the hospice garden fencing, fitting it for free, meaning he donated £750 of his time, he’s also donated cash from a couple of garden parties and from several other events he’s organised.

He’s now raised £6,077 for the Balby-based hospice.

The hospice is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).
