Harvey Fields, 17, who attended South Axholme Academy, said: “I have danced since I was eight years old and it is what I have always wanted to do. Coming to North Lindsey College has taught me new skills and given me opportunities I wouldn’t have had. I have been in many different performances and shows including the Olympic Torch Ceremony at Scarborough with Street Beat. My dream is to be in a show in the West End.”

The degree will develop skills in ballet, jazz dance, contemporary dance and music theatre. The majority of the teaching staff are actively engaged in professional theatre, enabling students to be aware of new techniques and trends. Students are given an unparalleled range of opportunities to gain performance experience, both in-house and in professional venues.

Graduate students have embarked on successful careers, joining companies such as The Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Spirit of the Dance, JazzXchange, Stomp, Zoots and Spangles, the Royal Shakespeare Company and Royal National Theatre, as well as performing in West End and regional plays and musicals, TV and films and in the commercial sector.

Regan Wilson, 17, commented: “I would like to be a performer in a contemporary company or be a dancer in the West End. The dance course here is amazing and it has given me so many opportunities including dancing at the Fresh Competition and also at New Dance. I love that we get to study ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap and musical theatre. It is going to be strange not dancing with everyone at North Lindsey College. My course tutor is the best ever and goesabove and beyond to help you and she is always there for you.”
