Society president Mrs Norma Neill made the presentation of inscribed medallions and shields to the two Year 6 winners from Haxey and Westwoodside primary schools at the leavers’ service at St Nicholas Church. The two winners were Evie Duke for Haxey Primary and Lydia Rowland for Westwoodside Primary. Evie had chosen to assume the role of a baron whilst Lydia produced a biography of Baron John de Lacy. The society created the award, given for the best narrative story, in 2003 to encourage youngsters to take an interest in local heritage.
