North Lincolnshire Council is encouraging people in North Lincolnshire to get health this New Year by taking part in its Active Together programme.
The start of 2016 is a great opportunity to make positive lifestyle changes and it is well-documented that an active lifestyle is beneficial and essential to any age group. Make getting healthy and active your New Year’s resolution.
Not only is physical activity fun but it is also great for your mental and physical health, which is definitely the case with the Active Together programme.
Physical activity is great for your mental health and can make you feel better and happier within yourself. As people age it is important to age healthily and help fend off or live with a variety of illness and staying active can help you achieve this.
Councillor Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for Customer Services, Sport and Leisure, said: “Getting involved with the Active Together project is the perfect way to take those first steps togetting active. The programme provides a range of activities for adults as well as activities the whole family can participate in together. Keeping active is really important for your health.”
All sessions are free and are delivered by friendly and supportive staff. Activities include; Nordic walking, football and dance. Activities available for all the family include; Rounders, archery, netball and Badminton.
