At the event, a 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB and a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 were displayed at the House of Commons. Dozens of MPs from coastal areas viewed the cars and heard about the valuable life-saving work of the RLNI, which is an organisation wholly supported by charitable donations and bequests.

The Ferraris, which are expected to fetch up to £5 million when auctioned this month, were left in the estate of the late Richard Colton to be sold for the benefit of the RNLI.

Andrew praised the vital work of the RNLI said: “We all recognise the fantastic work that the RNLI carry out on a daily basis, often without the recognition they deserve, and as such we are very happy to promote this very worthy cause.”
