A sponsored horse ride to raise money to help a ten-year-old boy is taking place this weekend.

The event is in aid of Ashton King who suffer with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, in the hope of helping him with more independent living.

Starting at Tinkers Cottage in Belton at 1pm, the route covers 6.5 miles using mainly bridleways.

One of the organisers said: "We are looking to raise as much money as possible to help with equipment needed to make life just a little easier for him."

Participants can walk or ride the route.

A barbecue and drinks will be held after the ride/walk, contributions welcome.
