Isle folk invited to find out about fostering

Find out more about fostering and whether you could get involved personally, at a special event this month.

North Lincolnshire Council’s fostering team is holding an information event on Wednesday, January 14 for people to discover all they need to know about fostering and how to become a foster carer.

The event at the Learning and Development Centre on Enderby Road in Scunthorpe will have three sessions throughout the day for people to drop-in to: 11am to 1pm, 3pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8pm.

Pop along if you have any interest in the subject or: to know more about children who need foster care, the training and support you would receive, if you could offer care for a child on a long-term basis, might be able to care for a child with a disability or health needs on a regular short breaks basis.

There will also be information on caring for a sibling group.

All questions can be answered at this one event.

Annemarie Carlberg, Fostering Services Manager, said: “We are always on the lookout for foster carers to look after our children in North Lincolnshire. If you have ever thought about fostering but aren’t sure on whether to take the first step, then come along to this event. “Our fantastic fostering team will be on hand to offer advice and support. This event is about people finding out the information they need about fostering to make a decision on whether it is right for them.

“We are looking for all sorts of foster carers, and welcome foster carers from all backgrounds, so don’t be put off thinking you won’t be eligible. Pop along to the event to find out more. You could be taking the first few steps to making a real difference to a child’s life.”
