EVENTS will take place in several Isle venues to mark Women’s World Day of Prayer next Friday, March 2.
Over three million people across the world will mark the annual event and the theme of this year’s worship is ‘Let justice prevail’.
Prayer and worship will use a form of service prepared by Christian women in Malaysia.
Celebrations will start in Tonga and continue around the world, taking in 170 countries, with the final service to be staged in Western Samoa 35 hours later.
Although organised and lead by women, it is essentially a day for everybody and men are also welcome to attend events.
Epworth’s Wesley Memorial Methodist Church will host a service at 2.30pm, lead by Network President Kathleen Lewis and speaker Reverend Dr Claire Potter.
Members of St Andrew’s Church will share the service and all are welcome to attend.
There will also be a service at St Mary’s Church, West Butterwick, 2.30pm start, with speaker Rosemary Wheeler. Again all are welcome.
