Isle businesses invited to have their say

The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is inviting businesses across the region to join in the first, of what will become annual, surveys about the local economy.

The interim findings of the survey will be published at the Humber LEP Forum which takes place at Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education on March 13.

Introducing the 2015 survey, Humber LEP Chair Lord Haskins said: “It is important that businesses of all sizes operating in our region have a voice and tell us what they require to help meet their needs and aspirations for growing sustainable enterprises.

“Input to the survey, based on their practical experience, is vital to help the LEP build an accurate picture of the state of the Humber economy, identify the challenges businesses face and drive our future agenda for growth.”

The survey covers a wide range of subjects from: legislative change to encourage entrepreneurship; real and perceived barriers to growth and access to markets, to infrastructure; skills training, accessible workforce, to innovation, and support from business organisations.

A representative from any business located in the North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, East Riding and the Hull City councils’ areas can complete the survey online http://surveys.humberlep.org/index.php/587398/lang-en and it should take less than 10 minutes.

The Humber LEP is a business-led partnership that works closely with government to promote and develop the natural economic area surrounding the Humber estuary, and provide strategic leadership for economic growth.

Its membership comprises representatives from businesses, education and training as well as the four local authorities in the Humber. In working together with stakeholders the LEP seeks to attract new investment; generate growth from existing businesses, and direct resources where they will be most effectively used.
