Isle artist judging contest

The Clumber Park Hotel and Spa has announced that Neil Rands, aka Rama Ramski, from Belton, who has appeared on the front of The Times magazine, is to judge their Falling Leaves Competition which was launched last month.

“The response to the competition has been incredible and we couldn’t have anticipated just how much it would capture the imagination of children in the area,” explains Edward Mobbs, the hotel’s Sales and Marketing Manager.

Entries in the Falling Leaves Competition must depict a leaf and may be either a drawing/painting or made out of papier-mâché.

The winner of each age range will be awarded a meal for them and their family and also get to see their leaf exhibited in the hotel’s Normanton Inn throughout National Tree Week - November 26 to December 4.

“I was only five years old when teachers became aware of how accurate my pictures were and how it was just second nature for me to draw what I could see,” explains Neil Rands. “So I know how important it is to encourage artistic flair in young children.”

“I’m really looking forward to seeing how the children in the region depict and interpret a leaf. Judging from the entries received so far, there’s a lot of artistic talent right on Nottinghamshire’s doorstep waiting to blossom.”
