Important changes made to Doncaster's coronavirus pedestrian zone

Doncaster Council has announced a number of changes to the town’s coronavirus pedestrian zone.

Many streets are subject to safety measures to ensure social distancing.

The changes are:

The day time closure of Silver Street has been removed, other than on Saturdays and Sundays between 10:30am and 4pm

There will be a night time closure every night on Silver Street from 6pm and 5am

Hall Gate has been removed from the Pedestrian Zone and can be accessed via Wood Street at any time

There are also some important restrictions all motorists need to be aware of and follow:

You can’t drive down any of the streets within the Pedestrian Zone at any time

Vehicles can only access the Pedestrian Zone for loading and unloading at specified times

You cannot park within the zone at any time unless for loading and unloading

Coronavirus infection rate increases in Sheffield and Doncaster, with both in top 10 for spread of COVID-19

The pedestrian zone is to allow physical distancing as businesses reopen.
