POLICE are searching for a pervert who started touching himself inappropriately when he was speaking to a woman passenger on a train.

The incident happened when a 51-year-old woman was sat on a train and a man sat next to her. As he was speaking to her she then realised he was touching himself.

The “distressed” woman then moved to another part of the train which was the 17.52pm Doncaster to London service.

The man then left the train at Newark before boarding another service to Lincoln, where detectives believe he could have connections.

The British Transport Police has released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident which happened between 6pm and 6.30pm on Friday, April 27.

Det Cons Andrew Lehman, investigating officer, said: “The woman was understandably left distressed and disturbed by the man’s behaviour.

“We have made several lines of enquiry to establish the identity of the man, including reviewing CCTV footage and circulating images on police intelligence systems but to no avail.

“We are keen to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV images as we believe he can help us with our investigation.

“If you think you recognise him, or know his whereabouts, then we would like to hear from you.”
