Young people aged 14 to 24 gathered at Balby Carr Community Academy last week to meet with business representatives from a range of industries to learn about opportunities available to them.

The was the third event of its kind hosted by Doncaster Chamber and the Your Future organisation, following similar events at Armthorpe Academy and Danum Academy.

The fairs are part of a government funded national project to deliver 250 events through chambers of commerce.

Andy Cope, head teacher at Armthorpe Academy, said: “I have heard nothing but positive feedback from students and staff, about the helpful and very informative manner in which they were spoken to by all of the exhibitors.

“In particular, I’ve been delighted by the way in which younger students responded. If any reminder was needed, this in itself convinces me that the sooner we can get young people thinking about their future career aspirations, the better.”

Further Career Fairs are planned to take place with a large event scheduled at The Dome on February 17 and others due at Hall Cross Academy, Trinity Academy and Doncaster College. If your business would like to participate contact Tina Slater at [email protected]
