Huge rat spotted in broad daylight near Doncaster's Mansion House

The rodent was spotted at the junction of Priory Place and High Street last night by a stunned shopper.

The woman, who declined to be named, said: “It was just sat there, bold as anything in the middle of the street.

"It looked pretty big with a long tail and didn’t even move when I got close to it.

"It didn't seem bothered that there were people around.”

The rat was spotted outside the TSB bank near to Doncaster’s Tourist Information Office at around 6.30pm.

Doncaster Council has a team of pest control operatives to treat rat infestations in and around homes in the town.
