Yorkshire Water has told customers in the DN1 postcode area to be aware of a loss of water or low pressure while they deal with an emergency in the area.
Residents have been warned to expect disruption and discolouration of water supplies while the issue is dealt with.
Yorkshire Water has apologised to householders and asked them to follow social media for updates on the situation.
