This will help ensure parents and carers:

have a say in what types of activities disabled children and young people want to do;

have a say in when they would like to do them; and

have a say in where they would like to place them.

A short break is a valuable break for a parent or carer of a disabled child or young person. It is also an opportunity for a disabled child or young person to take part in fun activities.

To shape the future of short breaks on offer in North Lincolnshire, parents and carers are being asked to tell the council what they think about the current service. Whether you already access this service or it is something you are thinking about accessing, your views will make a difference.

Have your say by completing the online survey at: www.northlincs.gov.uk/current-consultations. The deadline is Friday 30 October.

Councillor David Rose, cabinet member for Children’s Services, said: “We’re looking for the views of parents and carers of disabled children and young people in North Lincolnshire as they are the ones who use the short break service. It’s essential that the service meets their needs and their children’s needs. In order to shape the future of the service we want to find out what parents and carers would like to see provided and any changes they think could be made. Please complete the online survey and have your say.”
