Residents keen to make the most of a new multi-million-pound Isle leisure centre are being encouraged to help shape the fitness timetable by getting in touch.
A reduced programme of classes and swimming sessions are currently taking place at the new Axholme North Leisure centre in Crowle but staff are keen for residents to contact them to shape the future of the facility.
Residents are being asked to contact the leisure centre with a wish list of which classes they would like to run along with a list of preferred days and time slots for both fitness classes and swimming sessions.
The facility boasts a 25-metre swimming pool, 16 station gym, fitness studio and a football pitch, as well as outdoor tennis and netball courts.
Speaking about the facility located behind Axholme Academy on Wharf Road Councillor David Rose, the authority's cabinet member for children, families, learning and leisure, said: "It is fantastic to see this brand new centre open and very promising to hear that residents and community groups are already taking full advantage of having these state of the art facilities on their doorstep.
"Working closely with our existing Epworth Leisure Centre, we can double our leisure offer in the Isle and provide key sports, recreation and fitness facilities for communities when they want them most.”
The current class timetable features Circuit Training, High Intensity Interval Training classes (HIIT) Abs Blast, 50 Plus Fitness, Stability Ball and Intense Legs Bums and Tums.
An ESCAPE-Pain course for people living with chronic pain -the first of its kind in North Lincolnshire – is also on offer at the leisure centre. The sessions aim to reduce pain, improve physical function and reduce depression by helping people understand their pain better and find activities that help them deal with it.
