Temperatures are set to top 30C in South Yorkshire today, making it the hottest day in 10 years.
Yesterday the mercury rose to a sweltering 28C, but forecasters are promising that today will be even hotter.
At 8.30am this morning the temperature was already a very warm 18.5C, but by mid afternoon it is expected to be hotter than 30C.
That will mean today South Yorkshire will be hotter than places like Rio de Janeiro.
However, the intense heat is set to spark some intense thunderstorms later today, and a weather warning has been issued for torrential downpours, hail, and lightning.
Although isolated, the violent storms could trigger flash floods in places.
