People with mental health issues now have a new housing support service after the opening of the Doncaster Floating Support Mental Health service.
The service, which is run by housing association Riverside-ECHG, held its first community Open Day at Cavendish Court, South Parade, for staff to showcase the support they offer to single people and families in their own homes.
“Our staff team provides a range of support to people to maintain their tenancy and so that they don’t lose their home as they can be quite vulnerable,” said team member Linda Harlington.
“We offer practical and emotional assistance, and do one-to-one work with each client. We help them in identifying what their personal needs are and we liaise with outside agencies on their behalf. This can include anything from educational or employment goals to things like health issues.”
The service provides a drop-in for their clients, as well as to a range of partner agencies.
Anyone wanting to find out more about the service or who is in need of mental health support can call the team on 01302 366323 or 07896 930438.
