Frenchgate shopping centre in Doncaster is offering youngsters the opportunity to give their dad a dashing new look for Father’s Day and help charity at the same time.

James Herrington, from the Gentleman’s Retreat in Bawtry, is setting up a barber’s chair in the centre from 11am to 4pm on Friday and Saturday to offer dads a special shaving experience with all donations going to Prostate Cancer UK.

Centre manager Laurie Barton Wright said: “People often struggle to think of a good present for Father’s Day and we think this is a fantastic way for sons and daughters to give their dad a treat and help charity.

“Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. Over 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. 250,000 men are currently living with the disease. This is a condition that only affects men and while we want people to celebrate and treat their dad’s on Father’s Day we also want to raise funds for this important charity.”

Youngsters and their dads wishing to have a hot towel shave should make their way to outside Debenhams where Dads can sit back, relax and be pampered – all for a minimum £5 donation. Customers enjoying a shave will also be given a goodie bag to help them celebrate Father’s Day.
