Discount store Aldi is recalling a product that has been on sale in the region after it was found to contain salmonella.

Packs of Choceur Treasures that have a ‘best before’ date of September 1 2015 have been recalled.

The 200g (7oz) chocolate product was sold in parts of Lincolnshire, along with the East and West Midlands.

People are warned by the Food Standards Agency not to eat the product, and anyone who bought it is asked to return it to the store.

Choceur Treasures are whole hazelnuts wrapped in waffle and milk chocolate. Salmonella has been detected in one batch of the product only to date.

No other Choceur/Aldi products are known to be affected.
