New mums in Doncaster know breast really is best, thanks to a weekly group at Rossington Children’s Centre.
The Breast Start is a friendly drop in group which offers new mums in the area help with breast feeding, information and support. It also gives mums a chance to relax, chat with other breastfeeding mums and share their experiences. Community Nursery Nurse for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), Rachel Shields said: “Breastfeeding is the healthiest way for women to feed their babies, so the Breast Start group gives breastfeeding mums a great support network to help them to continue as long as possible.”
The group has a health professional on hand to offer advice, and also welcomes parents bringing their older children along to the weekly session.
Working in partnership with the children’s centre staff, the Breast Start group runs every Friday morning at Rossington Children’s Centre between 10am -12pm.
