Haxey bungalows nominated for housing award

Social housing which was officially opened in the Isle last year has been shortlisted for an award.

Thirteen, two bedroom bungalows on Hallcroft Close, Haxey, which were completed in May 2015, are being considered for the Best Social or Affordable Housing Development in the LABC (Local Authority Building Control) South Yorkshire and Humber Building Excellence Awards 2016.

The homes off Blackmoor Road, had tenants moving in just hours after completion and form part of housing group Ongo Homes commitment to delivering rural affordable housing.

The LABC South Yorkshire and Humber Building Excellence awards recognise and honour the most impressive construction developments and projects in the region, for their outstanding quality work and excellence in both design and construction.

This is the second year in a row Ongo Homes and T G Sowerby Developments LTD have been shortlisted in this category. Last year it was for Karen Court off Haig Avenue, Scunthorpe. A housing scheme for people with learning disabilities and it was highly commended.

The awards evening will be held at Forest Pines on May 12, where the winners will be revealed.
