Here’s where you and your little ones can meet Santa in the run up to Christmas.


Santa is on his way! Atkinsons' is bringing Christmas to Sheffield with a magical Santa's Grotto to support St Luke's Hospice.

Saturday 21 November to Sunday 20 December. Situated on the ' first floor next to the restaurant, the grotto will be open from 11am to 3pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10.30am to 4pm Sunday. Entry: £4 on weekdays and £5 on Saturday and Sunday, with each child receiving a gift from Santa and an ‘I’ve visited Santa’ certificate. For an additional £1.50 on weekends, visitors can also have their photograph taken with Santa.

Proceeds from every visit will help us to provide care for anyone affected by terminal illness in Sheffield.


Bring the family along to meet children's film and TV characters, have a go at Christmas crafts in the Winter Garden and even meet Father Christmas in his grotto on Fargate. Real Christmas returns to Sheffield this year as the Christmas Lights switch-on takes place across the city centre on Sunday 22 November from 2pm to 6.30pm. You can take the elf trail from the Winter Garden, searching for clues around the city centre and you might even win a prize in the draw.

THE MOOR CHRISTMAS PARTY - For younger children, The Moor will be hosting their annual Christmas party from 12.30pm to 4.30pm with the switch on of The Moor lights from the tree near Atkinsons at 4pm. Look out for Granny Tourismo, Musical Ruth and the living nativity. There will also be mince pie and balloon giveaways, Father Christmas, real reindeer, street dance and children's rides to enjoy.


A warm Dickensian welcome awaits at our biggest event of the year!

Join us for festive fun & shopping with over 120 stalls. Enjoy traditional crafts & skills, family fairground, live music performances, Dickensian, Santa's Grotto & reindeer's.

Have a magical Christmas!

Experience a classic family Christmas at the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre! Hitch a ride aboard a magical sleigh on your way to meet Father Christmas at the Enchanted Grotto. Visit the Nativity scene in the cosy stable and meet friendly farm animals, as well as Lemurs, Meerkats, Owls, Snakes and more in unforgettable Animal Encounters.

Take a seat for pantomime-style free-flying Bird Shows daily, featuring amazing birds of prey and parrots, and visit the Elf Workshop for Christmas crafts and activities including writing a letter to Santa.

Journey by Steam Train from Rowsley South Station and meet Santa for Christmas.

Saturday 5th, 12th & 19th, Sunday 6th, 13th & 20th, Monday 21st, Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th December.

Santa with his many helpers are waiting to welcome you aboard his festive steam train travelling from Rowsley South Station to Matlock Platform 2 for one return journey lasting approximately 1 hour.

As you chuff merrily along Santa assisted by his many elves saunters through the train bearing quality gifts, sweets and drinks for every boy and girl. Mum’s, Dad’s and other family members can sit back and relax with a glass of hot mulled wine and a mince pie. In garland filled coaches piped with festive music, professional clowns and magicians will entertain you whilst you travel.

Other refreshments can be purchased from the mini bar on the train with a wider selection of both hot and cold food and drinks available at Rowsley South Buffet.

Fares: Adults/Senior Citizens £12.00

Children 0 – 15 months (no seat) £6.00 - Children 16 months to 15 years £10.00

How to Book: Our Santa Special trains get very busy so we strongly advise you to book early to avoid disappointment. Bookings can either be done over the phone by contacting us on 01629 580381 or by downloading our booking form and posting it to the address shown on the leaflet. Other Information: Once the tickets has been issued no refund will be made due to illness or cancellation. However in the event of you having to makes any changes to the booking i.e add extra tickets or change the date, there will be an administration charge of £25.00 per booking. This is payable before any new tickets will be issued. In the event of services having to be cancelled due to weather conditions Peak Rail will endeavour to re-arrange your booking. Peak Rail reserve the right not to refund the price of tickets under these circumstances.

Breakfast with Santa at iceSheffield is a magical morning of festive fun. It’s all about spending some real, quality time together and getting into the Christmas spirit.

The youngsters will get the chance to meet Santa Claus himself in his festively decorated grotto. Santa will once again bring his ‘Magical Kingdom’ to Meadowhall Shopping Centre later this month to celebrate the start of the festive season.

Alongside his entourage of elves, Santa will once again make his way through the Centre as part of his magical parade on Thursday November 12th, officially opening the grotto that evening for walk up bookings.

Visitors will experience wondrous excitement as they enter the glittering ice-kingdom where they will meet Santa’s elves. Plus they will have the option of taking the ‘good-o-metre’ test before meeting Santa and receiving their first Christmas present.

The Grotto will be located outside the Oasis Dining Quarter Courtyard area, where there will be a queuing area inside the grotto for families to begin their Christmas grotto experience, before going through to meet Santa. Tickets are priced £4.50 per child (plus a 50p booking fee), which includes a present from Santa. Tickets are available for purchase online or in-Centre from the ticket desk, but customers are advised to book online in advance to avoid disappointment.
