Great free £3 racecard at Doncaster Racecourse

It's Derby day at Doncaster Racecourse this weekend and to celebrate the course has teamed up with the Free Press for a great freebie offer.

To celebrate this occasion, Doncaster Racecourse has teamed up with the Epworth Bells to offer a free racecard on either Friday June 3 or Saturday June 4, worth £3, when you purchase a full price grandstand enclosure ticket at the grandstand entrance on the day and produce the voucher on this page.

On Friday, June 3, Red Dwarf star and well-known DJ Craig Charles will be DJ-ing into the night on the Champagne Lawn with a host of disco, funk and soul live after racing.

Best known for his role as Dave Lister in the sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf, the British actor, comedian, author, poet and television presenter has also presented the gladiator-style game show Robot Wars and played Lloyd Mullaney in ITV soap Coronation Street.

He also hosts The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC radio and performs DJ sets at clubs and festivals across the globe.

This special gig at Doncaster Racecourse, which is in support of Western Park Cancer Charity – gives racegoers the perfect excuse to pull on those glad rags and dance the night away for a Friday night with a difference.

Gates open at 3.30pm, the first race is at 5.40pm and the last race is at 8.40pm.

Craig Charles will take to the stage around 9pm.

Then, on Saturday June 4 British jazz funk band Level 42 perform live after racing to celebrate Derby Day – one of the most prestigious days in the racing calendar.

A benchmark of classic British jazz funk, the band has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and had a string of top 40 singles including Lessons in Love, Something about You, Leaving Me Now, Running in the Family and Hot Water. Level 42 will take to the stage from 6pm.

The Town Moor’s Derby Day fixture coincides with, and pays homage to the Epsom classic, which historically attracts some of the very best runners and riders in the sport.

Gates open at noon, the first race is at 1.55pm and the last race is at 5.40pm.
