As well as working for North Lincolnshire Council for 18 years, Hazel Collingwood was a well-known and much respected figure around her home town for generously volunteering her time to support a number of community activities, including the gardening club and the Girl Guides.

Supported by husband Peter and daughters Alex and Chantal, Hazel set about fundraising while she was a patient at Lindsey Lodge Hospice to say thank you for the care she was receiving. The family’s fundraising total was already over the £1,000 mark when Hazel passed away in April. Peter said he hoped the money to buy a large screen TV would help the partially sighted and added: “We wanted to raise enough money to buy a smart TV with a stand on wheels, which Hazel would have benefited from while she was at the Hospice.”
