The charity based in Rotherham aims to help the most vulnerable pets in society, like dogs due to be put to sleep in the local authority stray kennels as well as cats and kittens abandoned on the streets.

Lauren Sanderson, Rain Rescue’s deputy manager, said: “Christmas is always our hardest time of year, with a rise in the number of unwanted pets, we are always inundated with heartbreaking phone calls to help. At this time of year we need the public’s support more than ever to make a homeless pet’s Christmas a better one. Donating just £5 will make a huge difference to lives of the animals in our care. ”
