Lucky Epworth Bells readers are being offered a free regular bag of chips from one of the Isle’s most popular fish and chip takeaways, Plaice 2 Be, as voted for by our readers back in March 2014.

Your favourite weekly read has again teamed up with Plaice 2 Be in Belton to offer a free portion of regular chips on production of the coupon which can be seen in the July 23 edition of the Epworth Bells.

Just cut out the coupon on Page 14 of the Epworth Bells, edition July 23, and take it to the takeaway on King Edward Street in Belton to claim your free portion of chips worth £1.40.

The coupon is valid between Thursday July 23 and Wednesday, July 29.

The popular fish and chip takeaway, is owned by brothers Gurd (pictured with assistant Raj Singh) and Nim Mattu, who won The Epworth Bells & Crowle Advertiser Chip Shop of the Year in 2014 - and the co-owners still retain their plaice’ at the top table thanks to their loyal customers who voted them number one.

They are not ‘coding’ when they say their fish is freshly made to order each day.

Manager Nim, 40, of Belton, said: “This is a great offer for your readers. I would urge them to use the coupon and come into the fish and chip shop.

“We have been open now for about almost two years and business is going great. We enjoy being part of this great community.”

The takeaway sells traditional fish and chips, along with kebab dishes, chicken and burgers.

Take-away opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 11.30am to 2pm and 4pm to 9pm. It is closed on Sunday.

Plaice 2 Be serves up succulent chips and crispy battered fish daily and Nim said he was pleased customers felt they deserved to scale the dizzy heights of popularity.

Nim further added: “The family has been in the area for the past 18 years, but the chippie has been here for only around two years.”

Brother Gurd added: “We are very well known in Belton as the family runs local stores including One Stop shop and post office. For me this business is a passion and I enjoy coming into work every day and seeing all the customers. This is our thank you to them.”
