Husband and wife team Ernest and Lorraine Strawbridge opened Josh’s Diner nearly five years ago.

Mr Strawbridge, of Barnsley, said: “We offer traditional home comfort food which is top quality and very good value indeed from our cafe in the market hall in Mexborough.

“Everything is cooked fresh.

“Our oven is always on for baking.

“We do everything - from boiled eggs to all-day breakfasts, home made pies and scones to roast dinners.

The couple know a thing or two about fresh food as they also run a fruit and vegetable stall in the market.
