Former Doncaster Rovers skipper Rob Jones joins Hartlepool United
Former Doncaster Rovers skipper Rob Jones has signed for Hartlepool United on a deal until the end of the season.
Jones was released by Rovers last month after an eventful three-and-a-half seasons with the club which saw him captain the team to the League One title, suffer a career-threatening neck injury, before a stint in caretaker charge following the sacking of Paul Dickov earlier this season.
Jones, 36, has spent the last fortnight training with the League Two strugglers and played in a behind-closed-doors friendly win for Pools at Newcastle United on Wednesday afternoon.
He left Rovers, where he coached the under-21 side, wanting to continue his playing career.
