The old NatWest Bank building at Bawtry, which closed in May, was sold at Pugh's Yorkshire property auction earlier this month The building had a guide price of £270,000, but fetched £625,000. Paul Thompson, managing director of Pugh auction house, said: 'As usual, the Yorkshire auction this week was extremely busy, which was reflected in the high level of interest in this property. 'The bank in Bawtry was in a central location within a sought after village, so presents an exciting opportunity to be redeveloped.'
