Follow the yellow brick road, over the rainbow and into Sheffield City Hall as Manor Operatic Society return to the Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall once again, with their production of The Wizard of Oz, running from Wednesday 16 through to Saturday 19 May 2012.
Click your heels together and join Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion and the little dog Toto, as they embark on a journey through the magical Land of Oz to meet the Wizard and gain their hearts’ desire. But watch out for the Wicked Witch of the West and her winged monkeys as you rediscover the real story of Oz in this fantastic musical treat for all the family.
First established back in the 1950s, Manor Operatic Society have been staging productions in Sheffield for over 60 years and have been performing at the City Hall since 1986. The society’s aim has always been to produce affordable family entertainment. Manor Operatic’s dedicated cast of experienced performers always promise a production to truly remember with fantastic scenery, dazzling costumes and magical show tricks.
