A LARGE stretch of road that was closed because of flooding, has now been re-opened to traffic.

Severe downpours which struck the borough at the beginning of the month, led to several roads and bridges being closed.

A number were eventually re-opened, however Fordstead Lane from Barnby Dun to Arksey remained shut off to motorists because heavy rainfall led to vast amounts of flooding.

Doncaster Council has announced that the stretch of road is now back in action for drivers to use.
