The machinery used was left in the road and a white transit van, with its roof missing and which was later found burned out, is believed to have been used to remove the ATM from the scene.

The incident mirrors an incident in Armthorpe, Doncaster, one week ago today.

On that occasion, a forklift was used to steal a machine from the Halifax bank on Church Street.

The external wall to the bank was demolished in the raid.

No arrests have been made for that incident.
