Love is in the air in the borough with businesses set to show how much they care about the town.
The ‘I Love Doncaster’ campaign is giving businesses the opportunity to make a real difference to the area by tackling issues at a grassroots level.
The campaign is being organised by South Yorkshire Community Foundation (SYCF).
Pauline Grice, chief executive of SYCF, said: “The foundation has been helping local people tackle social issues and improve communities with grant funding for 25 years.
“This is an opportunity for businesses to join a community of like-minded donors who are working to make Doncaster a better place.”
The campaign has received an early boost with bus and coach operator Wilfreda Beehive based in Church Street, Adwick-le-Street, signing up as founder supporter.
Doncaster Chamber of Commerce has also been quick to back the campaign.
Howard Gannaway, chief executive of Doncaster Chamber, said: “Doncaster is a town full of excellent businesses and people who have a keen eye on the need for communities to come together.
“There is a lot of passion for showcasing our town. This is a perfect opportunity to show how much we love living and working here.”
Businesses are being offered the chance to show how much they love the town by contributing £1,000 which will go towards projects aimed at improving neighbourhoods.
The campaign will link businesses with community bodies and could include volunteers assisting with projects or providing meeting spaces for groups.
