Firefighters on scene after THIRD M18 crash today in Doncaster

One of the slip roads to the M18 has been closed as emergency services deal with a THIRD crash on the motorway in Doncaster today.

The M18 northbound exit slip at junction two is closed while firefighters work at scene of the collision, at the junction between the M18 and the A1(M).

A Highways England spokesmand said: “M18 northbound exit at J2 with A1M, Wadworth, is presently closed to allow South Yorkshire Fire and Resue to work at an incident.”

The said the cause of the closure was a road traffic collision.

Officials estimate the scene will be cleared between 2.30pm 2.45pm.

There were lane closures between junctions four and three southbound early today, and between junctions two and one southbound later in the morning.

South Yorkshire Police tweeted this morning: “Traffic conditions on the network are terrible today with standing water in many places.

“Please, drive to the conditions.”
