Firefighters called out to six incidents in one day in Doncaster

Despite a quiet weekend, firefighters were called out to six incidents in Doncaster on Bank Holiday Monday and overnight.

The first saw Thorne firefighters called out to a bicycle and rubbish fire at 7.20pm on Station Road in Stainforth. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

At 8pm firefighters from Thorne station attended a deliberate rubbish fire at Station Road in Dunscroft.

Three fire crews from Adwick and Doncaster stations attended a deliberate rubbish fire at 10.30pm on Stockbridge Lane, Bentley. The crews left the scene at 11.20pm.

A fire crew from Doncaster station attended a deliberate fire involving grassland, wood and old machinery at 10.55pm on Wheatley Hall Road, Wheatley.

Edlington firefighters were called out to a conifer tree on fire at 11.45pm on Browning Avenue, Balby. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

A car was accidentally on fire at 4.20am on A1M between J37-36, southbound. Firefighters from Adwick and Edlington stations attended the incident coming away at 5.05am.
