Fire spreads through Swinton home

A BLAZE ripped through the loft of a home in Swinton yesterday evening, Thursday.

The fire spread through the property on St Mary’s Road at about 6.15pm and two crews from Dearne Station were called to the scene.

They used hose reels to tackle the flames and left the scene after about 30 minutes.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said none of the occupants were injured.

The cause of the blaze was accidental.
