Fire crews kept busy in Dearne

FIREFIGHTERS were kept busy in Mexborough on Tuesday after arsonists set two fires.

Yobs set fire to a shed in the back garden of a home on Addison Road which spread to fencing.

A crew from Dearne Station were called to the scene by residents at about 3.20am.

They spent 40 minutes tackling the flames using a single hose reel.

Firefighters had to work quickly to stop the blaze spreading further to neighbouring gardens.

Arsonists then set fire to a wheelybin on nearby Cross Gate at about 4.30am.

Edlington firefighters attended and spent 30 minutes at the scene.
