Fake Festival today in Epworth
“When we held the first Fake Festival eight years ago in Haxey, I never imagined how popular tribute acts would become,” says Jez Lee, owner of Fake Festivals and local Isle boy.
“People have really embraced the tribute act scene, and this has been proven by the increasing tour dates each year that we have to put on to accommodate demand.
“Coldplace, Oasish and Flash really are the best in their field. Not only do they sound like their idols, but they also look like them and perform the same stage shows as the real thing.
“All of our tribute acts spend hours studying the real bands and performers, making sure that their moves, styling and sound is exactly like the real thing,” continues Jez.
“It’s not as easy as a covers band picking up instruments and playing the same tune, they have to act out the routines, accents and costumes of the real bands, and style themselves appropriately, making sure they keep up with the latest trends. “They all put in a lot of hard work to their performances, which is why they are the best in the business.”
Oasish, one of the headlining acts at this year’s Isle of Axholme Fake Festival, is one of the most sought after tribute bands in the UK.
“We want to bring an authentic Oasis experience to the stage for fans, and we feel we achieve this,” says Paul Higginson, frontman of Oasish.
We use the same backline as Oasis, and ‘Noel’ uses the same guitars as the real Noel, to bring the true Oasis sound back to life on stage.”
Having performed across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, Oasish have received fantastic reviews from the media, with The Sunday Times saying, “to see Oasish live is as good as seeing the real Oasis, only better!”
“We can’t wait to get back on the Fake Festivals tour this year, and we’re really excited that we’re performing back in the home region of Fake Festivals, where it all began,” continues Paul.
“If you have never experienced a tribute festival, then you should really try Isle of Axholme Fake Festival for the day, I promise you will not be disappointed,” added Jez.
