THERE will be more chance for people to find more out about fostering.

Doncaster Council is extending the times for residents make inquiries about foster caring.

Now prospective carers can call a member of the authority’s foster team Monday to Friday from 9am to 9pm and from 10am to 4pm on weekends between May 14 and May 27.

The new hours are being trialled during a two-week national campaign to raise awareness of fostering, a council spokesman said.

Chris Pratt, director of the children’s and young people service, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to take the first steps to fostering.”

The announcement will be a temporary change aimed at encouraging more people from across the borough to consider fostering.
