An Epworth woman, who has lost five of her family due to heart attacks, has raised £500 for the British Heart Foundation by undergoing a bone-chilling experience.

“I must thank all the people who bought tickets,” said Mrs Frankland, who sold the tickets from the One Stop shop she works at on Epworth’s Station Road.

Avril lost both her parents, two sisters and a brother to heart attacks and has been a supporter of the British Heart Foundation for almost two decades.

She faced her ordeal when winning ticket holder, 17-year-old Rhian Evans (left) of Epworth’s Whitehouse Way tipped the bucket of ice-cold water over her.
