Isle residents who campaigned to get speed limits reduced on a road through their village will soon see their efforts rewarded fully.
Limits on part of the A18 that runs through Althorpe are down from 60mph to 40mph, after local residents pressured North Lincolnshire Council to make changes.
They claimed the speed at which motorists travelled through the village made people feel unsafe when they were trying to cross the road. There was a particular issue with parents taking children to school who found it difficult to cross.
The Council bowed to the wishes of villagers and in addition, is installing a traffic island at a key point to help people further when they are making journeys.
The changes will be completed within weeks.
