Picture gallery gives eerie glimpse inside Doncaster's abandoned St James' Baths as they look today

The Beatles played a concert there, and generations learned to swim its waters – but this is how St James Baths looks now.

Pictures taken by the urban explorer known as Lost Places & Forgotten Faces show how the grade two listed building looks inside today, eight years after it was closed down in 2013.

The building still remains largely as it was when it was built in 1932 with many original features such as the pool hall which doubled up as a concert hall by covering the pool with a sprung marble floor to house up to 1,500 people.

The Beatles are known to have performed on the stage within the concert hall in the 1960s.

The building closed to the public in 2013 and has remained closed ever since.

This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a high profile historic Grade II listed building on Waterdale in the Civic and Cultural Quarter of Doncaster Town Centre. The building is currenly up for sale and Doncaster Council wants to see it brought back into use whilst retaining its heritage significance.
