Litter picking team pull out shopping trolleys, bed frames and even a cash register out of a Doncaster river

Take a look through these photos of a brilliant litter picking team clearing up a Doncaster river.

Patrick Sharkey and the rest of his Litter Free Team ascended onto Mill Dike in Bentley on June 8, 2021.

They worked between 10am and 1pm and pulled rubbish from the water in collaboration with the Don Catchment River Trust.

10 volunteers wore water waders and got stuck in.

They retrieved shopping trolleys, a double bed frame, an old cash register, a number of bicycles, a number of traffic cones, a large safety barrier used to fence off road works and of bags of general litter filled by the team, consisting of cans and plastic bottles.

They’re planning another litter picking session later in the year.
